Kim, nice first post! Vegas is crazy.
I had so much fun with that "Bud Light good times" clip, I thought I would add one more. In this one, our hero Bud Light takes the good times to the next level with the "ol' bait and switch". Great move!
My favourite line: "Hello, gorgeous". I love this guy.
Now, since we have both made posts, we are officially on our way. As I once heard a good friend say:
"Let the good times roll..."

Good Times in Las Vegas

Okay, so I would have started the good times sooner, but I haven't been able to get on the site as an admin until today so I'll try to catch up and show Shawny all the good times he's been missing out on!
So, D and I went to Las Vegas for work in August. Yes, I repeat, for "work". Twice a year, a huge, massive convention, called Magic, is held for all fashion for the upcoming season. My job was to "check out" the upcoming trends. So, the first night we rolled into the MGM Grand and went for an amazing 5 star dinner where they actually had $10, 000 bottles of wine on the menu! The next day we worked hard at viewing fashion and then went out to "the sushi restaurant", Nobu. The food was so good, that we had to take pictures of it. Melts in your mouth. After, we and a crew went to a party hosted by Stussy, where they had floors that would light up and had dance offs with other party goers who felt their boogy skills could perheps rival ours (they were wrong).
Anyways, it was a week of being immersed with good food, great clothes and fun people. Good times!

Bud Light keeps the good times going
This is not a good time had by me, but I thought I would introduce you guys to a compatriot in good times:
You should invite this guy to your next party

Ontario and Montreal "visit" tour
Not 36 hours after getting to Cornwall after the motorcycle ride, I took off in my car to visit friends in Toronto, Waterloo, and Hamilton. In this 4 day swing I visited great people such as Sarah McCullough, Kerry Towndrow, Karen Stevenson, Hannah Carriere, my first-year-roommate Charlie Philbrook and his wife Heather (who are now home-owners and parents, see below), Roger Scammell (now home-owner and engaged), Patrick Darrah (an old Microsoft buddy who quit to go to Med school at Mac), among others.
A few days after that trip I went to Montreal to visit Erin, Davin, and Claude. We had dinner, hit a bar, and ate smoked meat in the park. It was fun to meet up with these guys outside of Whistler. It is always a good time to see familiar faces in foreign places

Partying in a bar in Toronto. In this picture you will find Kerry Towndrow, Hannah Carriere, and myself (among others)

Me (awkwardly) holding Liam, Charlie and Heather's 7-week-old. With an actuary for a father and a statistician for a mother, this kid is going to be a math genius :)

I also made a trip to Ottawa to see Derick Lalonde (who came out to visit us in Whistler) and meet his girlfriend. Our good buddy Derick is going to school at Carleton.
I love visiting with people, especially those I have not seen in a long time. Great fun.

Riding a motorcycle across Canada
It looks I have the privilege of christening this blog with the first post. Excellent.
Beginning in late August, I did a huge motorcycle ride across Canada. My team was topnotch. I had my dad (who had shipped his bike out) and my mom (who drove my car). Together, we rode from Whistler to Cornwall, ON. It took us 16 days! We traveled 7000km (4400 miles). Obviously, we took the scenic route. We avoided the Trans-Canada Highway like the plague and took back roads as much as possible. This is how this ride should be done.
We rode through mountains, prairies, mud and gravel. We traveled past cities, sleeping villages, country homes and ranches. For weather, we had rain storms, hail, and Arctic fronts from the north. Tornadoes missed us by 30km. On the road, we dodged pot holes, dogs, bears, deer, mountain goats, and foxes alike. We endured multiple mechanicals. Our accommodations were split between camping (awesome) and motels (when the weather was too bad).
All the while, I was riding with no concern for clocks or calendars. I cared not what time it was or what day it was. That's a beautiful thing.
Certainly, this is a good time worthy of the first post.
I put a few pics below. If you are bored and want to procrastinate, you can see more pics here (or on facebook if you prefer).
Good adventure. Good times

Ready to ride in Ontari0

Our route through BC and western AB. More curves than a supermodel

Traffic in Alberta. Just before this, a cowboy passed us and advised: "Watch out for the bulls; the others will go around you... but the bulls may not". Good to know
